hmmm...dun worry ok
its not as physically demanding as u think. e main idea is to get ur colleagues bonded mentally. support each other while gg thru "slightly more demanding" tasks

haha, some pple who applied for moe scholarships for uni are also forced to go for outward bound. u're not alone! :)
hmM its actually a great chance for u to get out of ur comfort zone.
of cos one may get a little apprehensive & fearful when it comes to things we arent interested in, but who knows, u may end up enjoying urself! :)
& remember ur mosquito repellant or watever lotion u may need! :D

Actually OBS is not that bad lar. I don't think it'll be too demanding physically. I never tried any of the courses for corporate groups, but when I went to OBS in sec 3, I had quite a great time. :D
So relax and enjoy yourself!

The OBS trainer came to our office to brief us on the things to bring and shed some light on the activities involved...
There are many levels, ranging from low impact to high impact activities, see how far u can go.
Hopefully will be a fruitful and enjoyable trip.

What are you scared of, though? Are you worried about the physical strain? If so, I'm sure the OBS staff know not to go overboard with the activities. There've probably been hundreds in your same situation who've come through okay.

Don't worry too much, it's a fun and enjoyable experience to be. And of course, one that will challenge your own individual boldness to do things that you never thought you are capable of doing.
I used to be scared of height, but OBS helped me to overcome it and until such a extend that eventually my job in the Air Force was about height! Haha...

Well, I would probably say not that Singaporeans are getting soft, just probably the lack of explosure to such things, thus not used to things like this, and this probably is the result from over protective parents.
Last time, we used to see children play soccer and run in the rain, swim in the swimming pool, now? Hardly any one do that any more.

singaporeans are becoming virtual athletes/warriors and what have you.
they'd rather sit down and be virtually invincible. no pain, all the glory (in their own mind of cos).
kids nowadays are brought up sheltered and hence remain outwardly averse.
if it rains, run for shelter or not go out. if it shines, head for the air con.
gone are the days of rough and tumble games played rain or shine...:(

Lucky you. I had to beg the P.E. hod for a slot in OBS, and didnt get it. Lucky NCC sent me. SOOOOOOO much fun. I wished I had gone again.
Oh ya, bring more $$ for the t-shirt and souvenirs.
I got 1 tee, 1 sleeveless, 1 metal water bottle, a cap, some badges and others. Total spent $70+ Haha. My trainer gave us another paper about life that was very meaningful, in addition to the cert. I still kept both in pristine condition til today. About 3 years liaoz =)

Hmmm, Outward Bound is a trainning meh??? It is nothing compare to the army lor. It is basically fun and games. Nothing much, rope and height confidence course, flying fox, rock climbing, so and so. Not like calling u to chong mountain or dig big hole with small tools.

I don't understand the threat starter concern, OBS is not NS leh, why get so work up. You never serve NS?
OBS is like holiday camp only mah, you only get a small taste of pain, physical exertion, sweat and mosquitos coupled with insanitary conditions to live in and unhygenic food to eat. NS is like 2.5 years of that.
SO..., if you said company, I will say you are either NS man, woman or foreigner lah.

Is flakes male or female? If you're male, I'm totally ashamed to have someone like you in our Air Force. At least if you're female, it's half-excusable to be scared of OBS.
Duh, OBS only. Even back in Sec 4, we were all so excited at being able to go outdoors and sweat it out. 1 day of OBS is like 1 hour in OCS, and only 1 letter difference nia.

I was there at OBS and i was those that stayed out of the campsite. its sooo fun. the bag was like.. nearly bigger size than me. lol had to pitch tent in near pitch dark racing against thunder storm. scopping water out of tent, digging a hole and build basha to cook maggie with alot of ppl.. man.. i miss those times.. =(

there's a difference to the OBS organised by the army and one organised by commercial org.
it's not really all 'fun and games'
