Well, new look? I thought they change the camouflage pattern to digital type or something else but it ended up nothing new. Only different now is that servicemen need to sew on more badges. I heard some comments, like "tak koyok and machiam "stickers" directed at servicemen on these new sew on when taking MRT train. If you have not seen it, take a look at this web side. :D

i don't like the new "olive drab" colour of these tags/patches. a darker green or the camoflouge pattern (like the older name tags) is better.

I think the person who suggested this must be a part-time tailor.

our army is a decisive force. luckily we only serve for two years. we only have to bear with it for two years. anyway, i think the new patches/badges look pretty stylo.

Actually whats the use of putting the patch, i think it might even be a hindrance to us if we need to fight. Imagine the enmy know which unit is at where? If you go overseas on un mission or some other stuff then ok lar but well its not neccessary.

Ever heard..."Hide your rank, sir. Don't be a target". Hahahahaha.....
I guess those who likes to show wants to be known and be in the enemy sniper scope.
Well please...not to the enemy. Hahahahaha.....I'm not sure who suggest this in the first place. But i might guess it must be the unnoticable men in the ranks.....
What say you guys?

Now other armies have introduced the new computer digitised camo. It is very effective in breaking up the outline of soldiers, even in urban settings. The Singapore-style camo is dated. The big thing now is asymmterical warfare, with urban warfare being the most important kind of battle that armies face. Look at Lebanon, look at Iraq.

btw, anyone notice the unusdual type of helmet cmo that Israeli troops wear? Looks like a camoflaged pattern roti prata on top of their helmets. Anyone knows the logic behind such an unusual head-gear?

Hi, you got a very nice local way of describing the cover. It's called "Mit'znefet" in Hebrew meaning "clown hat" which more or less says how people feels about it the first time they see it - a funny hat. Unlike a normal helmet cover, it's made loose so as to disrupt the form of the helmet & blend in effectively in the surrounding (the cover is reversible, one side in woodland colours & the other, desert). Our SAF chose to use netting with nylon camo strips instead.

Dress is a term for clothing first, and a term for the garment that women wear second.

Hence the terms 'dress rehearsal', 'dressing', 'dress shoes', etcetera..
