Is this allowed? Are they violating the Official Secrets Act? They risk giving away vital intelligence to the enemy, like how puerile SAf boys are in their behaviour. I've seen a video clip in You Tube where the SAf boys behave like toddlers during their KTV night...and this includes captains.

those that have posted, you aren't suppose to. Yes can be charge for that. In the first place not suppose to be capturing videos unless you have loa but even with that it is for official business. I have soem videos so even when my men ask me for them i don't give it to them precisely because i am afraid they post it online thats it.

actually why bother doing so cept showing off to other people what they have done, the two guys who do the guard duty may be trying to be popular.
Since it is just 2 years now, why not finish and get over with it and dont need to have trouble with the law etc while doing it?

Just reported in today's paper.
The video goes like this. One guy points his rifle at another guy. The other guy raises a parang and charges. The first guy then fire blanks at him. He falls to the floor. They then laugh together.
FIRING AT YOUR COMRADE??? I think this really should not go unpunishable. There's a reason why we're not allowed to point our rifles at our buddies. Because the firing mechanism might malfunction and accidentally discharge a round, killing our friend. And you'll never know if there may be a live round amoung the blanks.
This is extremely dangerous. I hope MINDEF does an enquiry about this.

The risk is low because u will never get the round with blanks and too distinct unless someone purposely wan to get u kill but yes its a very bad preactise and thanks to the few dummies who think its funny its gonna be getting a lot of nsf and regulars in trouble as wel. Please hang that 2 that play with the blanks to not only punish them for their stupidity plus to appease the rest of the ppl for their inconvience in using camera phones in camp.

These cases of video taking will continue unless SAF shows that it means business
Nowadays NSFs take everything for granted because they know their rights and abuse them...
I'm personally torn between saying SAF is getting weak or our later generations getting more immature...

Yea, taking these videos will disclose vital sensitive information about the army. That our army is actually manned by moronic guys and it is safe to invade our island.

Blanks can kill. Bruce Lee's son, Brendon, was killed by a blank being fired at him at close range by a fellow actor as they performed a scene in the sequel to the Crow.
During my NS, the gabra king in my platoon (every platoon has such a clumsy oaf) accidentally fired off a blank near another soldier. The soldier had a nasty red welt on his neck.
Anyway, it's bad military culture to play-play with a rifle. You never know whether a live round is in the magazine or not.

it must be damn close lar, i am also trained u see the pic the distance can't kill lar btw if u say that we got hit by the new pellet gun also that 1 more damage at slightly further range and well we have cases that ppl send to hospital 2 but anyway bad culture yes and dun sterotype all soldiers as moronic just a portion of them deserves to be target boards for range practise.

Pictures and videos of army life are allowed as long as they get clearance from the security and intelligence team. Remember that time when Mr Miyagi posted photos, which contains pictures of tanks and armoured used in Ex Wallaby. He was asked to take them down. However, eventually, he managed to get some clearance over some of the pictures and he put those back. Well, it can't be helped as SAF has a reputation to maintain and of course, more importantly, the issue on security.
As for the video of the soldiers pointing M16 at each other, I guess that is a serious breach in security and safety protocols. As far as I know, soldiers are not allowed to point weapons at each other regardless whether the weapon is loaded or not. Even when testing the LAD light for SAR21, we are not supposed to be aiming at anyone. Whoever caught can faced severe disclipinary actions and can be charged for life threatening of others. This is wrong and Mindef has the right to take action.
