Smile Tertiary Education after Os

I'm taking my Os this year and its ending on November11. I'm in a dilemma of whether should i choose jc or polytechnic.. Being a combined science student with no add maths, will i be able to cope in JC? plus i've no idea of which course i'm interested in poly, so yeah.

Thank You! (:

What do you like to do? It all boils down to that.
Most of the friends I know choose the poly route already more or less know what they want to do in life or simply can't cope in a JC.
What you like doing will influence your decision to where your going.
Intending to go university?
What you wanna be when you grow up? etc. etc.

I think you should look at the university courses and make a decision.
If you cannot choose, then go to jc, give yourself another two years to decide so that you won't regret after going to poly. However, you would have to be able to cope with studying in jc...

If you really know what you wan to do in life, you wun go to a poly?

With a diploma from engineering course, you will juz be a mere "technician" .. There is no way to become an engineer unless you further yr studies in uni.. And its a matter of fact, the odds of entering uni are against poly students..

And to TS, i am not trying to discourage you, but it would be better if you dun go to science stream for JC..

Math in JC is heavily based on A math..

Combine science and pure sciences are worlds apart.. I should say, a minimum of 50% harder for pure science den combine science..

If you choose science stream, the whole of yr JC life will be trying to catch up with your classmates on 3 subjects (math + 2 science).. Its a pain cause yr basics aren't at the same level.. ITs disasterous..

If you realli need to go JC, do consider Arts stream.. Its would be more suitable for you..

If you aim to be an engineer/scientist, i should say take the poly route.. You should not go to a JC with combine science + Emath only.. With some hard work and determination, its still possible to go to uni from poly..

Meanwhile, it would be mroe helpful if yu can post what you really wan to be?

Perhaps you the minority out there?

Everything has extremes.. If we are talking about the majority, most of the combine sci students have problem coping with pure science at "A" level when compared with a "average" student..

Worse of all, now TS have math + 2 science to catch up? A JC life like that is worse den in uni..

Army officer : Any degree will do.. Does not really matter.. IPPT muz gold though..

Psychology: Not an easy path, refer to another thread abt this.. You need a master to be psychologist..

Gynaecology: Kinda impossible..

so..in conclusion...if a combine sc student decides to opt for the jc route...he/she should take the arts course?

What i heard from my friend was...those taking combine science will have slimmer chance of entering the jcs as compared to pure science...
