Default Putting up of National Day Flags

John Spencer Tan saw these flags and wrote to STOMP :
Quote:
Such decorations are usually put up by the Residents Committee of
that particular cluster of flags.

These two soiled flags really stood out among the other flags which
were new (but crumpled).

They were found at the walkway behind the bus stop in front of Maritime House.

Come on, we need to show real respect to our flag instead of just
paying lip service.

i think the RC members should be shot close range.

give no respect to state flag might as well not hang - they r hanging the flag
for sake of showing their patriotism but seems like only surface patriotism.

think the RC mentality is
hang flag = patriotic sgrean
no hang flag = non patriotic sgrean

Hang the national flag with heart and pride, not hang it for the shake of hanging or to please your master, like what those RC ppl doing.

Those RC members all are to be sacked! Being RC members and yet they make such error?! Gosh!

Anyway, not too sure why though I didn't want to speculate about it, but recent year, I was just about the only one that fly the Singapore flag in block!!

Give a small one and I will fly the flag in my car too! Hehe...

Now I understand why there are some HDB residents hang the flag incorrectly....it is a typical case of lead by example....

If hanging the national flag is a demand by law then that is what you'll find - flags hung inappropriately. But if it is through national education then I suppose we'll find flags flying high with dignity. Don't you think so?
