Question Public Displays of Affection - can you handle it?

Selvi snapped a shot of this young couple having a "long and passionate" kiss in the train around the Yishun area Aug 3. They were oblivious to the fact that all eyes were on them and did it not once but twice. The 30-year-old nurse, who thought the couple were students, judging from the schoolbags and books they were carrying, is concerned about the negative effect of the couple's behaviour on the young children who were in the train.

Ever witnessed public displays of affection? What are your thoughts about it?

Wah, so brave.
I think even though Singaporeans getting more open, that's still too much for many. Time and place for everything. Peck on cheek to show affection enough lah.

missbennet frowns on such displays. and calling them PDAs hardly adds to the romance of the act. missbennet is for furtive glances when in the public domain. moments of passion as best left for the privacy of the boudoir. tsk tsk.

Too young for this kind of talk .. but still they shouldnt show this kind of Public Affection Display .. those ppl who just broke up with their gf/bf or single people may be kinda upset .

i totally agree about the part abt PDAs being potential scar-reopeners for those who are currently going thru a heartbreak... it's really insensitive to such ppl...

but living in this society is also about caring about the feelings about other people. PDAs are just getting too common in this society. The society is just getting very open. Even if we young people can accept it, i don't think that the older generation can accept it. For me, i'll never do it. its just too personal a thing to display in public.

PDA all boils down to a lack of self control and sensitivity to other members of the public. It is actually a selfish act. A public place is NEVER the right time and place for PDA.
