Not all ang moh here are rich. I have stayed in ang moh countries for years both for my study and work. And I could tell you that those so call "rich ang moh" here, when they return back to their own country they are just like any average salary working adult.
They are "rich" here only because they are given "allowance" and "perks" here when the company send them here for work. Once back, no more such "perks and allowance" and it's back to "business as usual" like us.
Local gals here find them attractive because there are "rare" in Singapore , anything that is rare is consider a "gem" here. Just like if you carry a very expensive Prada bag along Orchard Rd, you will have every gals looking at you with envy! Not because you are pretty but because of the Prada beside you.
Look at the average "Japanese man" here on work assignment. Got company car, stay in condo, go expensive nightclub, play golf in expensive country club and eat at expensive Japanese restaurant etc. But once back in Japan, take MRT to work, live in small rabbit hut, play golf only at stadium and eat inside "tatsu soba mise" (standing noodles shop) near train station. Go nightclub in Japan, forget about it! One trip there can cost them their whole month's salary!
So...for local gas here, better be more realistic if you think u gonna have a good life being together with ang moh. Maybe good to "show off" to your friends occassionally but once committed, the "grass may not be so greener on the other side".
An averge Singapore man who drive a Nissan Sunny here may be nothing to local gals. But then again if you can afford a Sunny here, you are already better off then the average Ang Moh say in Australia liao. Over there you can easily buy 2 Toyota Carmy. One for yourself and one for your wife to drive out for high tea and shopping! So...what is there to envy about?
