Yes, it is unpleasant to have a smoker puffing away while you tucking into a hot plate of char kway tiao but I have not really seen an unreasonable one puffing thick black fumes straight at my face. We non-smokers can actually politely move away from them.

It is a kopitiam culture where smokers hang out in peace but now it seems to be gradually robbed away from them.
well thank you for supporting we smokers.... you do understand that the smoke from the ciggarette is no more dangerous than the car that you drive everyday. i don't see ppl banning car from producing. Heck they say that radiation from computer kills your body cells. Everyday the non smoker workaholic still work in front of their computer like there is no tomorrow. So please be considerate, because smokers didn't smoke inside the bus, mrt, and air plane that you take. If you have to complain, start with those smelly body after work and standing beside you in the mrt. Are you going to start requesting goverment to implement everyone must bath before going to the mrt?

This MMS was sent to STOMP via 75557

The 2 men were just puffing away in a no-smoking zone in a coffee shop in Bukit Panjang, Senja Road after their meals. People are getting oblivious to the No Smoking rule since it was enforced on 1st July.

they might as well banned smoking in the first place. sorry for my words but it is very stupid of the idea to increase the tax and then banned smoking.
by doing that, ppl ........like my relatives have lose business.

The smoking ban at hawker centres brings much cheer to non-smokers, especially those with young children. Sadly though, many a times, we still see people smoking in the 'no-smoking' zone, some think that no one will notice if they hide their cigarette under the table, while others sit in the least conspicuous spot of the hawker centre. Of course, there are those not so sneaky ones, this man you see lights up blatantly under the No Smoking poster.

oh...last time i was in a big group and we accidentaly sat in the smoking area, thus taking up all the smoking area space...the coffee shop owner had to open up new tables for us and looks like he is concern abt the business that he receives from smokers...so actually some r quite caring...

well, non-smokers also got their rights....

do n-joy ur ciggarette, as it is very very expensive now...
nid not have 2 hide here & there if u r not in the non-smoking....

BUT 2b fair, i think only having 20% (if i m not wrong..) of the total nos. tables as smoking area... it is simply NOT ENOUGH!!!
(as most smokers would want to n-joy their kopi & ciggarette in coffee shops)

2b even fairer, instead of having smoking area.... why don't we set up family corner or smoke-free corner (around 30%)...
(in most europe countries, they are having smoke-free corner instead...)

sound nicer, feel better.....

no offend.... juz my 2 cts worth....

I think its best that the non-smokers and the smokers should have a clean clear line....the non-smokers r already given a space to smoke..and those non-smokers should not take up their space given to the smokers...it would not be fair to them ne way...so maybe if the non-smokers area r full then try to move on somewhere else and not take up the smokers area even if there is space there....
