Restaurant Over-run with Students
This email was received via 75557@stomp.com.sg
Look at how many people were studying in the fastfood restaurant.
This picture was taken at Changi Airport Terminal 2 on 1 Sept'06.
Alot of them were just buying drinks and having on to their seats for long
hours.
The fastfood restaurant was packed wtih students and alot of us can't have
our meal.
It was so inconsiderate for them to study there.
It may even give tourists a bad impression.
Hope they do something to it.

Nothing new about studying in Changi Airport actually. I've done that when I was still studying years ago. Large quiet empty spaces, variety of restaurants and eateries, watching planes (and stewardress) when taking breaks, are pretty condusive to group studying.
It is inconsiderate, yea, but there aren't many study places around, especially when most of the students in Singapore will have exams at almost the same time (20% of population? hehe). The libraries, fast food restaurants (esp the 24 hour McD's), across the island (not only the airport) are filled with students occupying seats the entire day. Unless there are more studying areas around, or unless the exams periods are staggered, this will be the norm for many years to come.

yea. i agree. there are so little places for students to mug.
the airport is quite peaceful and nice.
i studied there too.
i mean, that's the only way because there's not really any better places.
inconsiderate? maybe..
but this is a two-way thing, you know?
we'll move if there's a better place for us to mug.
if not, i guess you'll still be seeing us at the T2's Mac.

hard to concentrate?
aiyo, this is quite subjective leh.
some people study better outside.
cos there are less distractions, like, computer, tv, bed, sofa, blah.
some people concentrate better at home..
for group projects, you'll surely have to meet out as a group to do what..

Mac
I think studying in Airport is alright lah, just dun book the place for so long until tourist find it an eye-sore bah...
maybe if thats the case, NLB should consider opening one branch near the airport since the airport environment is more of a serene and peaceful atmoshpere.
