Default Singtel's MIO sucks! Don't sign up Singtel!

I'm a subscriber of mio for about a year now....I'm telling everyone, pls DO NOT subscribe to mio. You will regret it. Right now, I'm just waiting for my contract to end so I can switch to Starhub.

For the past year, I sent numerous complaint emails to Singtel. Recently, I sent another one. It's been 3 days and I have yet to receive any reply. Very frustrating!

1. Their hotline takes forever before a human picks up the call. They are forever experiencing high call volume. Shouldn't common sense tell them to employ more customer service officers then?

2. Their internet connection is very unstable. Usually, around 12midnight to 2am, and 4pm to 7pm, it's very very laggy. That is if you are lucky. Some times, it lags the whole day. By laggy I mean it takes up to 8mins to load a page.

3. Very often, I don't even have an IP connection. Something's wrong with the DNS and etc. Many times, their wireless signals just go off. So while surfing halfway, your internet suddenly can't display page.

4. The mio home phone connection is bad. You can hear buzzing static sounds in the background. People can't even call in alot of times. Singtel sent a few of their guys to my home to inspect before. It still doesn't help. And as the modem is connected to the phone, once my modem goes off, my home phone can't even be used. The repair guys they themselves said to me that Mio is not a good system....Many complaints. In fact, they told me that it has yet to be fully tested when it was launched. I was shocked.

5. My mobile phone face the same problems at home....The technical guy says that it's because Singtel's wireless signals and reception tends to get mixed-up and there's nothing he can do for me. Like O_O !!!

So please, everyone, I'm just warning you guys not to sign up for Singtel's mio or singnet. It's horrible. Not just the product. But the aftersales customer service as well.

In any case, have anyone tried M1's internet plan? Is it good? If not, after terminating my contract, I'll go with Starhub for good.

I agree with the first point. I'm a Mio user and I experience many problems during the first week (eg. phone can't dial, internet router problems etc) so I tried to call for assistance:

Wednesday, first week: I called the main hotline and the person on the phone told me that a technician would arrive in 2h. So I waited. 2.5h later, the technician called me to ask for the model. I replied Mio. He said, "Mio ah?? I don't do Mio one leh.. Mio you have to ask the girl for another person to fix!" Hmm, I remember I told the person on the line mine was Mio during our conversation but ok, never mind. I called again. The person arranged another technician to come on Friday, at around 4.30pm.

Friday, first week: 4.30pm, no one arrived. Not even a single call. 5.00pm, still no one. 5.15pm, I couldn't wait any longer so I called the hotline again. I said, "Hello, a technician was arrange to come over but he has not arrived. I'm a MIO USER." The person replied, "Oh Mio user? Sorry we don't do Mio here. You can call the direct line at (insert number)..."

.... NOW THEN TELL ME?? I waited for 2 freakin' days now then u tell me it's not a Mio hotline (as stated on the registration paper)?? K, nair mind I still kept my cool..

So I called the given number and this guy with strange accent answered. He tried to do something/tampered with my modem at their centre but it was still faulty. So he arranged ANOTHER technician to come over the next day in the afternoon.

Saturday, first week: 1pm, no call. 2pm, no call. 5pm, no call. To sum things up, the technician never came. !!

I didn't bother to call again. Waste my blardaye time. My dad was brilliant enough to fix the phone. Boo Singtel.

For my internet, this internet technician came and fixed it, but it was sloppy work.

Anyway, their hotline is retarded. The first time I called was 7pm on Tuesday.

"Welcome to Singtel help line. For whatever, whatever, whatever, press 1. For whatever whatever whatever, press 2. FOr whatever, whatever, whatever, press 3"

*Press 3*

"For whatever, whatever, whatever, press 1. For whatever, whatever, whatever, press 2. For whatever, whatever, whatever, press 3."

*Press 2*

"For whatever, whatever, whatever, press 1. For whatever, whatever, whatever, press 2. To speak to our customer service press 3."

*Press 3*

"Sorry, the office is now closed. Please call again tomorrow. Our operating hour is whatever whatever.."

Faints.

hey i'm using Mio too, and i'm experiencing points 2 and 3. very frustrating, especially when you're surfing halfway or sending important documents to friends and it suddenly disconnects. worse thing is, when you try reconnecting, it tells you that it can't be connected. when you click on check on problems, it tells you it can't find any problems. bahhh.

cheap things are lidat, no pain no gain. since mio is cheap, be prepared for double standard services.
im using singnet too, not mio plan tho, nothing happens, except weak wireless signal, i bought a 15m cat5e wire to connect to my laptop.
paid $45/mth for 3mpbs. exclude phone n HP. i believe mio are too over-hyped.

Exclamation Well

Well, I have a friend working THERE and he himself strongly advise me not to take up that plan also. Imagine if the modem is down and no one is at home to restart it, so how??
