Thumbs down Ugly driver at the Causeway

This email was received via 75557@stomp.com.sg

This happened on the Causeway on Sunday, 17th Sep 06. I noticed a 2-lane jam as I approached the JB customs. As usual, some impatient drivers started to jump queue and soon a 3rd lane formed on the right at where those who jumped queue wait to 'cut in'.

This is when a noticed a Mitsubishi Space Wagon, plate no. SFD1414R, trying unsuccssfully to cut in. Like those before me, I managed to prevent him from cutting in. However, he got in immediately after me, after nearly hitting a Honda Civic, whose driver honked and flashed lights at him.

The Mitsubishi driver soon got into the left lane and this is when he decided to punish those who refused to give way to him earlier by driving real close to their wing mirrors and also flashing his middle finger at them. I watched unbelievably as he seemed to enjoy doing it. As I drove past him by on his right, I was shown the middle finger too. One of my pax then took out his camera and filmed this footage. The driver of the Honda Civic behind me approached me after we cleared customs and told me he is willing to come
forward as a witness should the need arise.

Default Lol

middle-finger-exhibitions are pretty common in singapore...

there was once when I was in my dad's car, and this guy on the right of my dad's car simply swerved dangerously into the lane we were in, and swerved to the left again WITHOUT SIGNALLING. My dad obviously horned at him...

then he showed us his middle finger.

naturally,

my dad did it back to him.

They were just as rude and obnoxious...

LOL! My classmate in my tuition class said that she once taught her class b4. she actually allowed students to listen to their mp3 players during her class. (which defeats the purpose of having a teacher in class)

well, my classmate's class eventually failed their chemistry. entire class. wow.

just as shameful as the middle finger flasher.

Two things:

One:
The picture/video isnt very clear. The middle finger is clear for all to see, but if you look very closely, the elbow is resting on the side door, it looks more than he's pressing the finger against the top of the window frame. A lot of drivers do that when in a long queue (including myself). Look at the angle of the hand, the way the fingers curl, the palm facing forward. If the palm faces inwards, it's more likely intended for the finger to be shown outside. Try doing an "up yours" middle finger now and you can see the difference. Better still, try it in your car, and you'll see what I mean.

I have doubts that the middle finger was intentionally directed at the persons in the video-recording car.

Two:
If you listen to the audio closely, there's one part where the lady's voice was edited (blip). Seems to me that she herself uttered an expletive not suitable for public consumption. Seems to me also that it is one "ugly passenger" calling another "ugly driver". Sounds like someone so quick to condemn another. They are always in the right and others are always the bad guys.
