Red face Leaky air-cons: a problem that keeps coming up all the time

Jasmin Cheng notes that her void deck at Block 119, Ang Mo Kio is always wet and algae-stained. The water is apparently from a leaky air-conditioner of one of her neighbours.

"The air-con water has stained our window panels and the air-con is also very noisy at night when we are sleeping," added Jasmin.

Do you have any bad experiences with leaky air-cons? How can we solve this problem that comes up all the time?

wow interesting thread...If we could just get a pail and store all these water for the night....I wonder how much we can store and maybe the pails of water can use to show these ppl that they really need to change their air con.....if they chose not to,then the ppl who collect the water can benefit of free water to clean the floors of the blk....LOL....

Hi,

this kind of situation occurred mainly if you are using a single window air-con unit type.

1. There is supposed to have a tray below the air-con unit. The tray [tilted a an angle] have a discharge hole which link to a discharge piping.
The discharge pipe must be linked back to owner's house.

2. The tray is trapped with dirt or particle causing an overflow of the air-con water.

Hope the above helps
