Thanks.. just doing my bit to ease your anxiety
I'm anxious abt my students' results too

And good luck to everyone!!

BTW, this year's winter (READ: the period when YOUR papers are being marked by retired teachers in Engerlund) is the coldest yet up there. Hopefully those examiners dont get brainfreezes when they mark your papers

The A level peeps will get their results in abt 1 months time!

Did some searching and chanced upon this list:
Over the years, the results are released on the following dates....

1996: 6 March Wednesday
1997: 6 March Thursday
1998: 6 March Friday
1999: 6 March Saturday
2000: 4 March Saturday
2001: 3 March Saturday
2002: 6 March Wednesday
2003: 6 March Thursday
2004: 5 March Friday
2005: 4 March Friday
2006: 1 March Wednesday
2007: 2 March Friday
2008: 7 March Friday

Some patterns spotted:
  1. 7 March is the LATEST date on which the results are released. That is to say, results this year will probably be released before 7 March too.
  2. 6 March used to be the most popular date in the 1990s.
  3. The most recent trend is: results are released on Friday.
  4. Results are always released in March. Duh.

My speculations:
Saturday is unlikely, especially since the civil service (read: schools) are now so into 5-day workweek.
And... the first Friday in March conveniently happens to be... 6th March!
Now that corroborates with points 1,2,3 and 4!
Note that this is pure speculation from a local education observer- no claims of confirmation made here.

Hope this gives a temporary peace of mind to those who are anxious about their results.. and respite to teachers who are constantly bugged by questions pertaining to release dates. Believe me - they're just as clueless as you are!

What are your takes?

Always in the March. My PW and MTL results are released at the same time with JC2's results. I think they have been marked, just waiting to be processed.

Like I said, that was my speculation. Not to be taken seriously
That mid feb prediction may come from the trend that in the past, O and A results are released very near each other. Example, end feb for O level and early mar for A level. Since this year's o level is released in mid jan, I agree that many people will think that mid feb is feasible.

I think each year uni applications start in March. And you should soon receive an envelope from NUS too. They do that every year I think.
So if that trend continues, your results shd be out end feb or early mar.

I remember that last year's PW was released in April, after which the hoo-ha over PW results disparity started. Mother tongue, however, is likely to be released together with A Level AFAIK. Although I'm not too sure. PW only started recently in around 2002 rite?

I also would like to think that most of the marking processes are done. The raw scores should be on their way to MOE for awarding of grades & moderation.
Note: Do u know that UCLES only set your papers & mark your scripts? MOE/SEAB designed the syllabuses, and award your grades (or moderate if there is a need to).

That's right! Enjoy your time before uni applications start. Trust me, it's not fun! Checking your letterbox everyday and sitting by the phone is never fun
