Default Lazy Motorcyclists on Walkways: How to Stop Them?

This email was received via 75557@stomp.com.sg

Despite the numerious complaints about bikers riding and parking on pedestrian walkways and HDB voiddecks, they are still doing it. These bikers know very well that the chances of them getting booked is very slim as the Neighbourhood police usually will not bother and Traffic Police seldom patrol in such vicinities. I guess it's time that our MPs should look into the safety of our citizens in their estates. As more slope walkway are built for the convenience of the elderly, these bikers are making use of such slope walkway for their conveniences.

Just this morning, at least 2 bikers are talking shortcut along the pedestrain walkway at Blk 465 Crawford Lane besides the coffeshop. They are doing it daily from 7am to 7.30am. See attached files.

You can stop one but you can't stop all.

Perhaps we should have it a law for citizens to enforce like if we see such selfish couldnt-care-less parked bicycles and motorbikes, we citizens can go ahead and let the air out of one or both tyres.

They do not realise the danger they pose. My biggest fear is for the little kids and pregnant women who use the walkways and unsuspectingly turn a blind corner into one of these.

I just wonder why the authority don't take stern action against these motorists who flout the law knowingly?
