STOMP 3rd anniversary celebrations
Singapore Citizen Journalism Awards
STOMP's army of citizen journalists continue to create waves with their reports on what's happening on the ground in the real Singapore. One evidence of their impact is the fact that traditional media often follow up on reports which first appeared in STOMP.
To recognise the work of these citizen journalists, STOMP is inaugurating the
Singapore Citizen Journalism Awards, in conjunction with our 3rd anniversary celebrations. This is the first and only awards in Singapore honouring citizen journalists and recognising their contributions.
Staring today, and ending Sep 30, STOMP Editors have shortlisted 20 of the best contributions from citizen journalists from June 2008 to June 2009. Our selection criteria are:
- Newsworthiness and timeliness
- Exclusivity i.e. the events and incidents were first reported in Stomp
- Engaging qualities
- Social impact and significance
- Of public concern and interest
- Reveals and reflects Singapore lifestyle trends
- Results in social change being effected
- Entertainment value
But you, our dear STOMPers, will decide who will be the top winners. Your votes can be guided by the Stomp Editors' criteria above.
We will honour the 10 stories which garnered the most votes. Attractive prizes will be offered to the top 3, while the rest will get trophies and certificates to honour them as star citizen journalists.
