More than half of Singaporean girls are materialistic and that's no doubt about that. Recently quite a handful of Singaporean men are attracted to girls from Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. Why? Because they felt that these girls are more faithful and less materialistic than our local girls, what most important is they don't mind their husbands earning less than 2k per month.

So problem lies with SG girls? No, I personally don't think so, the problem lies with our changing culture. As our country becoming more and more advance, we're also becoming more and more westernized. We got inspiration from other countries and we aspired to be like them and that's when our culture and thinking changed.

In the 1980s and 1990s, a O level cert is good enough for a person to earn a good income but now even a diploma can't guarantee you a 1.8k job, so what's more for a O level or ITE cert holder?

We can blame the God for being unfair, blame the school that give you a useless cert, blame the girls for being materialistic but why don't you calm down and think how to make your life better? 怨天尤人 is getting you nowhere.

haha~ i agree. instead of blaming this, blaming that.. why dont the guys work hard/study hard and get a good job? be rich and all that and u will have many gals flocking to u (maybe?). instead of simply settling for foreign women, why dont u work hard and get a good spore woman?

Err.... If you recalled a Quan Yifeng's show months ago, the female guests made remarks that a man should earn at least $4k. I hope I did not quote it out of context. But it remains vivid, as there were some discussions in Stomp as well.

$4k?! Unless you are a graduate, else either you work very very hard or that sum is quite hard to reach.

True but I believe sometimes you need luck too. Hardworking alone can't get you anyway, you need to meet the right person at the right time.

Haha life is never easy, unless you're born with golden spoon and need not fret over anything.

Bu**shit!!! Who the female guests think they are??? Jessica Alba or some supermodels from Brazil?

I think we should have this kind of show for men. Topic would be why SG girls are not as pretty as PRC, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thai, Japanese girls. We are losing out to the guys there...

I rather mary malaysian, thai or India as the educated woman in this group ( degree grad) are more practical in life.
I think many SG girls also can understand that working in SG is hard, I don't ever think it's easy at all. What they usually expect is the guy must be around the same pay income as them and if you can't earn as much as them, too bad then but please don't whine that they are not understanding. It goes the same for guys who are capable in earning money and they would also want to expect some girl who is pretty and capable to match up with him isn't it? Then should we go around whining that SG men are hard to please?

For the girl you like, how do you know that she do not want to see you because of your status (NS men?). Could it be she knows that you liked her but she doesn't likes you?

Foreign wives also same, you got no money, why marry you?
Vietnam wives also need $8000!
They suffer enuff in their country, come SG still want to suffer some more, huh?

Just find another new girl lah, give up a tree for whole forest, huh?
True, otherwise why foreign brides are available to SG? Because they also want to have a better life...

If they aren't materialistic, they could have stay at their hometown and find their husband there.

If SG men really think they aren't materialistic, sorry it's still the same, but the expectation is different only.
