There are the good ones, and there are the bad ones too.

There are those safe drivers (some is super safe), and there are those reckless drivers too.

Default Taking The Roads For Granted

Singapore drivers tend to take the roads for granted. They treat the road as if they were the only ones driving on the road, that is why we hear of so many accidents on the road everyday. Not all drivers are like these; we do have good drivers around. However, these good drivers tend to end up being the victims of an accident. That is the sad part.

To answer that question, here's a good litmus test - throw the average Singaporean driver into KL traffic and see how long he/she can survive.

I have frens hanging the 'P' plates driving in to KL many times and they came back home in one piece. Its just a matter of getting use to the road conditions and applying safe and defensive driving.

Comparing to other countries, Singapore drivers are quite decent already. I remember there was once I went to Taiwan. The drivers there are 3 times more reckless than Singaporeans. I thank God we don't have many drivers like that.

Of course, when the comparison is against European countries, we tend to lose out in the most important aspect of driving: Patience. Blame it on the fast paced life that Singaporeans are so used to nowadays.

Impatience is the one that makes Singapore drivers 'bad drivers'.
