（新加坡13日訊）新加坡世姐又獻醜！
將代表新加坡到南非參加世界小姐選美賽的第3名世姐琵拉阿蘭多，被指有美貌無智慧，竟說神話動物魚尾獅是真 的，還猜魚尾獅是在1965年絕種的。

世界小姐選美賽主辦單位ERM World Marketing4天前宣佈，世姐亞軍李函穎（22歲）因自稱受傷，無法長時間站立，所以決定由“三姐” 琵拉阿蘭多代表出征。

但在消息傳出后，熱心網民又開始挖新世姐琵拉的底，並在網上指責她知識零蛋。

網民以“2009年世姐琵拉阿蘭多的可笑訪問錄影：魚尾獅幾時絕種的”為題，指琵拉在大賽前，接受Razo r TV的訪問，以調查她對新加坡的認識時，她竟說魚尾獅是在1965年絕種。

在大決賽當晚，原本是大熱門的琵拉，也因為在問答環節表現欠佳，最后只得到季軍。

據報導，當時司儀問她如果得到冠軍，要在一分鐘致詞裡說什么時，她支吾半天，才擠出幾句要感謝父母、家人、 兄 弟、朋友及支持者的感謝詞，令人大跌眼鏡。

I know I am going to get flamed for this but just have to say it.

There is always a reason why some people make it to the mainstream academic institutions (the JCs, polytechnics and varsities) while some don't. Of course, individually we may find some people who prefer to pursue their studies in a private institution, but on a whole, not many who qualify will do that.

Let's not talk about RESULTS, let's just say GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, these girls have failed thoroughly! No idea that Singapore's 1st president is Yusof Ishak, not knowing that Singapore is 44 years old this year, and to think the merlion even existed and then extinct! This is far too much!

I agree with u..but u know hor,many poly grads ended up going to private schs for their degrees....

Polys are easy to enter,those who never study hard naturally dun qualify to go in...Universities are different though as the places are reserved for the 'elites',those super smart kids..
Average(higher than average) students won't be able to gain admission to local unis..

Why is it important to know who the first president of Singapore is?
Some people would say "Omg, heritage! Omg, its your country and you don't know!" But think again, is it necessary to know that?

I am not surprised that people don't know a lot of things, simply because our education system does not encourage this type of learning. All we do is stuff information that we may or may not use into our brains. Does that mean we have high IQ?

By the way, to all those people criticising people, saying they have 0 IQ, go read those letters from the public that have been published in TODAY newspapers and you will realise that it is hereditary - so many Singaporeans write without thinking. Those are the people with 0 IQ.
